Performance measurements done well can generate the information required by logistics managers to make intelligent, informed operating decisions quickly in the face of changing business conditions. Done poorly, the manager can be buried in useless data, starved for critical information, or both. Following the methodology outlined in CSCMP’s book, Keeping Score, this session will focus on the implementation of a balanced set of measures aligned with business strategy, including:

• A practical, easy to implement, step by step approach for the alignment of measurement to strategy for key logistics processes in the supply chain
• Tools for the practitioner for simplifying and improving logistics performance measurement within the firm and across the supply chain
• Lessons learned during an implementation

Guest Speaker: Mike Ledyard

Recognized as one of the Top 20 Logistics and Supply Chain Executives of 2001-02, Mike is an author and frequent speaker on relationship-based acquisition and management of services, as well as on process assessment, measurement and improvement. Following a keynote address by Brandy Christian, President and CEO of the Port of New Orleans, on the intricate relationship between manufacturing and logistics, a panel of local manufacturers and representatives of transportation providers will explore novel solutions to perennial cargo shipping challenges.
